Joyful Japan Tour

My most recent quilt, "Joyful Japan," is out on tour!
Here I am at last summer's AQS show in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a beautiful blue ribbon. This month it was at the AQS Daytona Beach show and was awarded a second place ribbon. Yea!
I thought I'd share some information about how I made this quilt.

It was inspired by a wonderful tour of Japan sponsored by the Costume Society of America.
Our tour guides, Jerry and Carol Saber, lived in Japan and were able to plan an amazing trip. One of the favorite activities was to visit several flea markets in Kyoto and Tokyo.

We had a great time looking and shopping!

I found some fun fabric.

And these dolls decided to come to America with me.
I will continue to add more to the story of “Joyful Japan” and the journey of how I created this quilt.

I had help from my furry friends along the way!
